What is recorded here

Ballyness holds a settlement site whose age and exact purpose remain unknown. The official record marks only that people lived there, not when they arrived or why they left. The earth may still carry the shape of forgotten rooms, hearth ashes or footpaths worn by hands that never wrote their own names. What is certain is that the place existed, was used, and disappeared into the ordinary ground of County Derry.
