What is recorded here

Grave Yd. is a Kildare graveyard where thirty centuries of death overlap inside one mortared wall. The 19th century church stands beside medieval ruins, while markers from the 18th to 20th centuries crowd its east side. People may have kept returning because the place already understood loss, layering new grief onto older silence.

In the NE sector of a possible early ecclesiastical enclosure (KD013-005001-). A sub-rectangular area (dims. L c. 70m N-S; Wth c. 60m) is enclosed by a mortared stone wall with an entrance gate at the SW corner. The majority of the grave markers occur to the E of a 19th century church (KD013-005004-) and date from the 18th-20th c. O'Leary and Cullen (1999, 18-20) have transcribed the inscriptions.
