Ballynacoy still holds the buried line of a Rath, though no wall stands to mark it. A Rath is a fortress, a boundary drawn in earth before written law, and the land remembers that shape even when the field forgets it. To walk there is to enter an old claim: strength, exclusion, and the certainty that some places were made to be defended.
