Seven hundred and twenty-six metres of dark water-carved limestone stretch west of Cong, housing lesser horseshoe bats that hang motionless in the dripping black. The cave remains closed to humans, forcing the fragile creatures to own the chamber without fear of torchlight or footsteps. What little is known suggests the water cut this passage slowly through ancient rock, creating a stable home where biology thrives in total absence of human witness.

Within the N sector of a rath (GA103-020----). This Man-made underground passage consists of a drystone-built subrectangular chamber (L 5.8m; Wth 1.3m; H 0.85-1.45m) running NNE-SSW. Access is gained at the SSW end and the chamber narrows towards the NNE end where it is 0.9m wide.
