What is recorded here

Mortars and beams could judge a Rath by the grandeur of its keep, but human memory could judge it by the life it recorded. The chamber may have contained a kitchen, a temple, a workshop or a small court where several fates turned at once. What is certain is that the chamber existed, that it belonged to a real place and that it was large enough to require construction. The chamber is no longer visible, but the fact that it was built remains.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
