LissaguttaHachured

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

LissaguttaHachured was a thirty-metre fairy fort buried beneath Limerick pasture before ploughs erased its rim. It vanished so completely that even memory forgot the shape of its bank. What remains is a smooth field where the boundary between human ownership and fairy takeover stopped mattering.
In undulating pasture. Monument, depicted on 1841 OS 6-inch map as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m), has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
