What is recorded here

Gateway, extant 1941, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of rendered chamfered piers on rendered chamfered plinth having pedimented capping supporting cast-iron double gates with rendered chamfered outer piers on rendered chamfered plinths having pedimented capping supporting cast-iron railings. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Park House.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 15607035) with the resulting ensemble not only making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Park House estate, but also clearly illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate by Martin Pierce (d. 1907).

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
