What is recorded here

Indicated is a worn oval ringfort in County Cork, reduced to a low bank and saucer-shaped depression beneath modern tillage. Its southwest gap and an unusual inner mound suggest people shaped the earth for entry, exclusion, or memory before ploughs cut away the outer foot. The field still holds the outline of a place made for living, even when the life has thinned into soil and shadow.

In tillage. Oval area (52m E-W; 40m N-S) defined by low, worn bank (max. H 0.8m). Gap in bank to SW; second gap to NNW created by pushing bank material into interior to form mound. Interior saucer-shaped. Externally, foot of bank cut away substantially by plough action. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
