What is recorded here

Nine ogham stones circle the summit of a low hillock between Dingle Harbour and Trabeg, preserving names scraped from surrounding soil. One boulder still bears SUVALLOS MAQ(QI) DUCOVAROS, though broken edges have stolen the final letters. The gap does not weaken the name; it invites the viewer to complete what chipping removed.

National Monument No. 64. Ballintaggart church (KE053-033001-) (site of) and old burial ground (KE053-033002-) /An Cheallúnach or An Lisín: This circular enclosure crowns the summit of a low, but prominent, hillock between Dingle Harbour and Trabeg. Nine ogham stones have been collected from various locations (not precisely located) in the vicinity of the site and are now arranged in a circle within the enclosure. This is a 0.9m long boulder bearing the inscription: SUVALLOS MAQ(QI) DUCOVAROS. The last 2 scores of the Q and the 1st four of the I have broken away but their former presence is confirmed by earlier accounts. (Cuppage 1986, no. 820, no. 7) This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
