'The cross-head, which surmounts a plain outline shaft, is enclosed within an outline circle. It consists of an interlaced eight-armed cross with trefoil terminals. At the centre of this design is a simple floral motif composed of eight triangular segments. There is no evidence to suggest that the slab bore an inscription' (ibid.).
