Marianne and Denis walked past Ashgrove on a warm evening. They saw the earth bank curving beside the stream and remembered the old fort hidden under leaves. Marianne touched the warm soil and smiled. Denis photographed the ring before darkness took the field.
In pasture, on a slight S-facing slope. Sub-circular area (c. 40m N-S; c. 50m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 2.05m; ext. H 3.2m), with external fosse (D 1.9m; Wth 2.95m) SW->ESE. Stream runs along line of fosse ESE->SW. Interior covered by dense overgrowth.
