Lomond Castle stands on the western shore of Loch Lomond near Balloch, its medieval origins buried beneath centuries of change. The Colquhoun family called it home, expanded its rooms, and watched Bonnie Prince Charlie pass through during the Jacobite Uprising of 1745-1746. It later became a grand hotel, then luxury flats, yet the lake and Ben Lomond still fill every window like the castle never stopped belonging to them.
