Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Bute, Quien Hill as Marker Cairn (period Unassigned)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Marker cairn, date unassigned, possibly Neolithic or Bronze Age. Its precise function remains unclear, but such cairns often served as territorial markers or ceremonial features in prehistoric landscapes.
