Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Iona, Cnoc An T-sidhein as Cross Slab (early Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Early Medieval in date, this cross slab is likely associated with the spread of Christianity in the Hebrides, possibly linked to the influence of Iona Abbey. Its carved design may have had both religious significance and a role in local commemorative practice.
