Castle Coeffin is a castle ruin on Lismore in Argyll and Bute, built in the 13th century on a promontory above Loch Linnhe. Its thick-walled hall and later bailey still mark the place where power, prayer and sea traffic crossed. The name may reach back to a Danish prince called Caifen, while a sister haunting the castle until taken to Norway belongs to local story rather than proven history.
