There was a weir built at Ardpaddin after 1640 according to the Civil Survey of 1654-6 (Simington 1942, 91), and it was owned by Theobald Butler of Knocklofty, Co. Tipperary (TS082-063001-) which is c. 5km to the N. It remains unlocated.
