What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ardkill, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle south-facing slope as a circular overgrown area measuring thirty-four metres north-south and thirty-two and a half metres east-west. An earthen bank defines the western and northern edges, while a road wall replaces the bank on the northeast. Local tradition identifies the site as a childrens' burial ground rather than a standard defensive fort.

On a gentle S-facing slope. Circular overgrown area (diam. 34m N-S; 32.5m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at N: Wth 4.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.2m) SW-N, which is reduced to a slight bank (Wth 4-4.5m; int. H 0.1-0.2m; ext. H 2m) E-SW and replaced by a road wall N-E.
