What is recorded here

Cloghmeel was a standing stone inside the western half of a Galway earthwork, named on maps before the land forgot it. It may have marked a boundary, a burial or a warning, yet no stone or scar remains for anyone to touch. The earthwork still holds its shape while the stone vanished, leaving behind a name that points at nothing but memory.

In W half of an earthwork (GA006-001----). Named on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as 'Standing Stone' but on 3rd. ed. (1926) as 'Cloghmeel'. No visible surface trace survives.
