Shane's Castle stands as ruined walls beside Lough Neagh, marked by repeated fire and reinvention rather than quiet decay. Built in 1345 for the ClandeboyO'Neill dynasty and named for Shane McBrian McPhelim O'Neill, it lost one form to flame in 1816 and another to flame in 1922, yet people kept returning to shape the ground around it.
