Annies holds a vast subcircular enclosure beside Lough Carra, marking the lost boundary of a church and abbey now vanished. Its earthen bank still traces part of the circle, preserving the shape of a place that no longer exists. The land has forgotten the buildings, but the earth remembers the commitment made there.
