Brechin Cathedral is associated with Saint Brechen, an early Christian saint believed to have founded a monastery in the area during the 7th century. The site's hogback stones, carved with Christian symbols, reflect the fusion of Pictish and Norse artistic traditions in early medieval Scotland.
