Woodrae Castle preserves Pictish cross slabs and symbol stones in Angus, marking a place where ancient belief still stands beside later castle memory. The stones may have guided prayer, warned visitors, or simply claimed the land before human laws arrived. Their survival suggests people valued clarity enough to carve it, cut it, or bury it rather than erase it.
