What is recorded here

Kinnaird Castle has sheltered the Carnegie family for more than 600 years, surviving a royal burn in 1452, a Jacobite confiscation, and a devastating 1921 fire. It is not a ruined curiosity but a living house where kings, pretenders and marquesses once walked the same rooms. The castle keeps giving back what history tried to take from it.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kinnaird Castle as Sundial (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Kinnaird Castle, located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was built in the 18th century by the Keith family, specifically Sir Robert Keith, 4th Earl of Kintore. It is remembered as a fine example of Scottish baronial architecture and for its prominent tower and ornate design.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
