Indicated is a wedge-shaped fairy fort on Ailwee Hill, its stone wall still marking a narrow west end that widens eastward before an interior divider splits the space. It has watched the multiperiod fields below through centuries of rain, pasture and forgotten foot traffic. The shape suggests exclusion as much as shelter, a place where someone drew a line and waited to see what crossed it.

On top of Ailwee Hill and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-104001-). A wedge-shaped enclosure (c. 60m E-W; c. 24m N-S at W to c. 38m N-S at E) defined by a stone wall visible on Digital Globe (2011-2013) and on OSi Aerial Premium orthophotography (2012-2018). Aillwee is a wedge-shaped stone-walled enclosure on Ailwee Hill, likely an early-medieval ringfort associated with a multiperiod landscape. Local tradition links the area to fairy lore, common in such hilltop forts across Ireland.
