What is recorded here

Aghaleague in County Mayo still holds a circular earthen fort, the kind of place where people may have lived, hidden or worshipped before written memory. It is not a fairy castle, though that name suggests small creatures and forgotten rules. A ring of soil and stone may have marked a household, a boundary or a warning. The land kept the shape long after the hands that made it disappeared.
