What is recorded here

Lisnabrone is a circular rath on a Galway ridge, its two banks and central ditch still drawing a clear line around twenty-seven metres of forgotten life. Fields have cut through the outer edge, yet the inner ring holds firm, suggesting people once valued the boundary enough to keep returning and shaping it. The small mound nearby may have marked a grave, a hearth or a warning, while the fort itself waited for the next season of rain and the next pair of hands to remember its purpose.

On a ridge in tillage. A well-preserved circular rath (diam. 27.4m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. Several gaps breach the inner bank but that at SE (Wth 1.8m) may be original. The fosse and outer bank have been disturbed at SE; the latter is overlain by field walls at S and W. A mound (GA104-010----) lies c. 7m to the NE.
