Fetteresso Castle is a restored tower mansion in Aberdeenshire that belonged to the Keiths, Earls Marischal of Scotland, before Admiral Robert Duff bought it in 1782. Its old doorway may have been the place where James Stewart was proclaimed King James VIII in 1715, while the east portion was burnt by Montrose in 1645 and rebuilt after that loss. The castle became a guest house, lost its roof, and returned as flats in 1993, carrying fire, ambition and ordinary life through the same stones.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Fetteresso Castle as Icehouse (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Fetteresso Castle was built by the Ogilvy family in the 15th century and later held by the Gordon family. It is historically important as the site of a significant battle in 1495, where the forces of King James IV defeated the Earl of Crawford, reinforcing royal authority in northeast Scotland.
