What is recorded here

Castlehill of Strachan is a gravel mound inside a River Feugh loop where the Gifford Family likely hunted during the 13th century. Excavation exposed a large building, palisade, ovens built on mill stones, and a ditch later filled in deliberately. Burnt posts and scorched stones suggest the lodge was destroyed in the 14th century and abandoned, leaving only a scarred hill where a vivid household once stood.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlehill of Strachan as Occupation Site (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
