Castle Fraser is a five-storey Z-plan castle completed in 1636 for Michael Fraser, built around an older tower and shaped by master masons John Bell and Thomas Leiper. It remained a living family home through the Fraser, Mackenzie and Pearson lines, keeping original portraits, furniture and rooms from the medieval Great Hall to the Regency Dining Room. The Pearson family gave it to the National Trust for Scotland in 1976, where it still stands in over three hundred acres of woodland, farmland and a walled kitchen garden near Kemnay.

The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
