Cross in Abbeyshrule — Report the wrong picture

Thirty metres northeast of the Cistercian abbey, a limestone base holds a square socket where people still drop coins. The cross is gone, but the hole remains open, waiting for the weight of a wish or the edge of a memory. Abbeyshrule keeps its dead nearby and its mysteries shallow, inviting anyone to touch the past with something small and bright.

Within the burial ground (LF023-113002-) c. 30m to the NE of the Cistercian abbey (LF023-113----). This rectangular limestone cross-base (L 0.43m; Wth 0.23m; H 0.2m) has a square-shaped central socket (0.09m N-S; 0.09m E-W; D 0.09m) into which coins have been placed as offerings.
