What is recorded here

Rath was a giant meatpacking machine in Waterloo, Iowa, where hogs became bacon and soldiers ate during two world wars. It grew so large that by 1941 it was the nation's largest packing plant, yet the same size made the old four-story building clumsy when newer flat factories appeared. Workers bled for it in a 1948 strike, then took it over in 1980 and watched it sink anyway. Rath is no longer a company, but it still occupies the mind as a place where human muscle, hunger and greed were packed together until one of them broke.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH - one of a rath pair with 027:033. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
