LISSARAW FORT in Lissaraw, County Armagh, holds a man-made underground passage beneath an ancient rath. The chamber may have served as a shelter, treasury or ritual space during the early Christian period. Darkness still presses against the entrance, waiting for a lantern and the courage to ask it questions.
