RATH: KILLYLISS HILL in Mettican Glebe

Killyliss Hill in County Derry is an early Christian rath, a circular earthen fort where people lived, worshipped or defended themselves before modern boundaries existed. The hill still holds that shape, a quiet ring of soil and memory above the glebe. Perhaps children ran inside it, perhaps lovers met at its edge, perhaps soldiers watched the valley from its rim. The stones are gone but the circle remains, waiting for someone to walk it and remember what youth and fear felt like under an open sky.
