RATH in Tullynewbane is an early Christian rath, a fortified place from the early Christian period now protected as a scheduled monument in County Antrim. It may have been a farmstead, a refuge or a small centre of power, its earthworks shaped by hands that no longer walk there. The name survives without explanation, pointing to a life already lost beneath grass and rain.
