RATH in Mullyard

RATH

What is recorded here

Mullyard still holds the buried line of a Rath, an ancient enclosure marked only by a point on the official map. That much is clear. Whether it was a home, a boundary or a forgotten centre of power is no longer certain. The land has taken back the shape, leaving behind a name and the possibility that people once drew a circle around what they valued.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
