RATH in Mullanary

RATH

What is recorded here

Mullanary holds a rath, an ancient earthwork built before written history and still standing in County Armagh. It is not a grand castle or a named palace, but a human shape made of soil, stones and repeated labour. That simplicity is why it resists forgetting.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
