What is recorded here

RATH in Magherabeg, County Down, is an archaeological site recorded for the early Christian period. A rath is a defended enclosure, often circular, where people lived, worked and possibly worshipped before modern roads and fields covered much of the ground. The name survives even when the shape has faded, suggesting that the place still belongs to memory and that its lost residents are not forgotten.
