What is recorded here

Donabate Abbey emerged beside the sea where monks copied books and endured famine. The foundation traces to the seventh century, while the present stones and stories belong to later centuries. That continuity matters more than a single heroic date because the abbey remained a living place through loss, restoration and ordinary prayer.
