What is recorded here
Mortars and chambers still stand inside Farrantemple Glebe, marking the rath as a built place rather than a vague tradition. That much is clear. What is less certain is whether it served as a home, a refuge, a boundary marker or a small centre of local authority. The stones do not answer that part. They continue the argument by refusing to disappear.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
