RATH in Farnaloy

RATH

What is recorded here

RATH in Farnaloy, County Armagh, is an early Christian rath, a fortified place from before written records. The name still stands in the official record, but the shape of the ditch and bank has blurred under grass and time. A person may have lived there, loved there, and vanished without a trace. The land keeps the shape of what is no longer spoken.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
