What is recorded here
Drumardan Quarter holds a rath, an ancient earthwork whose boundary still traces the shape of human hands. The official record preserves the name and point but leaves the life inside the circle unfinished. Perhaps the quarter formed around the rath rather than the rath forming inside the quarter, a defensive knot where ordinary people made themselves impossible to swallow.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
