Ballynagalliagh still holds a Rath, though no visible wall remains. The official record points to a buried or vanished ring fort in County Derry, not a new invention. Perhaps it was a hilltop kitchen, a boundary marker, or a childhood legend made concrete. Whatever it was, the land remembered the shape before people stopped repeating its name.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
