RATH in Ballymoney

RATH

What is recorded here

Mortons has no visible castle and no written history, yet it still carries the weight of a lost estate. The land may have worn a fortress, a boundary wall or a lord’s marker before memory faded. A rattling chamber or hidden stair may still wait beneath the soil, preserving the shape of a house that stopped being spoken about.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
