Ballykennedy still holds a rath, though no date or story has survived to explain who built it or why. The ground may have been a home, a refuge or a boundary marker, shaped by hands that stopped distinguishing ownership from survival. What is left is a circle of pressure in the earth, waiting for someone to remember the difference between a wall and a wound.
