RATH in Ballyclan

RATH

What is recorded here

Mortons Bay and RATH in Ballyclan both stand in County Antrim, yet neither claims the other. The first is a cove where water still moves, the second a rath where human hands may have shaped the land. Distance between them is not the same as truth. What is known is that both exist, that they are separate, and that the sea remains the clearest witness to the first.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
