Braithwaite's Hill in Derryaghy, County Antrim, is a Rath from early Christian times, a deliberate mound rising above the ordinary land. The name suggests a person or family claimed the shape, perhaps marking ownership, memory or warning. The hill still stands as a visible reminder that the area was shaped and valued long before modern boundaries.
