What is recorded here

Internal diam. c. 27m. A circular space surrounded by a much worn bank, a silted-up fosse, another bank and fosse in similar condition and possibly a third outer bank. The whole site is much damaged. A circular stone wall is situated at the mutilated W section of the probable outer bank. It is possibly totally modern. The site is situated lower down the S facing shoulder of the hill on which the site above (DG100-008) is located. Immediately to the S is a stream running through a deep gorge. The site is very wet. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated. Date of upload: 22 September 2008
