What is recorded here
Ballytober holds a raised rath and a man-made underground passage, but no human name or date remains attached to the work. The chamber may have hidden people, tools or memory when storms closed the sky above. Build a visible chamber and a hidden door, and the place becomes a participant instead of a dead record.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH & Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
