Carrowadoon preserves a raised rath and a man-made underground passage in Dunloy, County Antrim. The passage may have served as a cellar, refuge or ritual way of moving through dark earth while the rath marked a boundary above. Together they suggest a place where ordinary life and hidden belief shared the same ground.
