What is recorded here
Derryoge in County Down holds a raised rath from the E.CHRIST.. period, marked only as a circular earthwork on the official map. That much is clear. Whether it was a farmhouse, a boundary marker, or a forgotten shrine, the soil has kept its shape while the names and purposes faded. The hill still rises, waiting for someone to remember why it was built.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
